On May 18, 2009, Stella the cat was laid to rest. She had been fighting kidney and thyroid issues. She was 17 years old. She was our first cat. She picked us as we were at the Animal Rescue League. We took her home and she became a part of our lives that we will always cherish. We have an empty space within our hearts. We miss her so...

"She came from the league...therefore, she reigned!"

"Being the adventures of a young cat and her three siblings, Strandlund, Mabel and Violet."

These are some drawings I did of our four cats over the last few years.

These are all original artworks executed by me.

STELLA was our first cat, (hence the title) a tabby with beautiful markings! She has a pedagree, she tells us, because she came from THE LEAGUE!

STRANDLUND, on the other hand, came to us via the street. Several weeks of him stopping by for hand outs, until he decided to take us into his family. He is a buff-colored tabby. He is our NATURE BOY!! "Street-Wise" in every sense of the word! He is our "Outdoor Cat."

Our third cat, MABEL, also came to us from the street. She was so skinny and her beautiful long hair was matted, and she seemed just a bit on the wild side. We found out that she is a Maine Coon. Very beautiful! We know her as our "LITTLE PAGEANT PUSS!"

Then, our fourth "addition" arrived. Her name is Violet and she was found hiding in a bush near a parking lot by my wife. She is part Egyptian Mau and possibly part Ocicat. She was only 2 months old and full of "dog" worms (according to the Vet). She had been abandoned and was living off of anything she could find to eat. We took her in and she has accepted us with open arms. She will eat just about anything. French fries are her favorite. She has also taught the others how to drink from the toilet.

Let's start out with the first drawing I did of Stella...

Her head really isn't this big...

Stella started out to be quite clumsy.

But when she was brushed...her outlook on life improved immensely.

We kept all of her toys and canned foods in a drawer that she fervently tried to gain access to.

Stella would sleep on the TV and dream of a world full of toys and canned food.

NATURE -
Stella's favorite TV show...Really!

Television is really too influential to kids these days.

She hates going to the Vet... and what she hates even more is getting her temperature taken!!

She just had to get that last little bit of iced tea in the glass.

Where's Stella?

A bad day fishing...
is better than a good day working!

Stella took the big step, and moved into my side of the closet.

At first, Stella wasn't too neighborly.

Stella...the "Spokescat."

I don't know why I drew this. We do not have cable and we do not have a fish tank
...and it isn't even funny!

She didn't take a liking to the Mailman, either.

She was nice enough to wish everyone a Happy New Year, though.

She also had a habit of getting her belongings stuck under the washing machine...
and then demanding someone get them out for her.

She would do anything for canned food!

Sweet Dreams!

Now, there are two kinds of cats...
Indoor Cats and Outdoor Cats.
Our cat Strandlund was definitely an Outdoor Cat!
